Players sulking because Tomkins was sold against his will and taking sides with Sakho
Just one or two reasons for the toxic dressing room.

Tomkins was supposedly sold because he could be assured of being in the first 11? Thats what Bilic said and he said they did not want to let him go. Bilic seems honest so I tend to believe that to be true?

James, we are selling you.
But I don't want to go
Doesn't matter , apparently we can sell you without you agreeing to the transfer. It's Crystal Palace by the way.

I think other leaks from the club suggested the opposite - that Tomkins was identified as a weak link in defence very early after Bilic joined. I think the club might be guilty of just saying anything to diffuse the anger over a fan favourite leaving. (not me btw, I thought selling Tomkins was sadly the right decision).

FWIW
He said: “You want your players on their toes. During the season you need all of them motivated, hungry and ready when the time comes to perform.

“You can’t give players guarantees because you don’t know what’ll happen in four or five weeks’ time. If you promise them something and don’t do it, then it’s definitely no good for them.

“You have players you are going to give a chance and you have something for Plan B, then you have the squad players.

“I tried to explain the situation with James. I didn’t want him to leave as last year he played many, many games in different positions and was very good for our squad.

“But I couldn’t guarantee he would play week in, week out and that is the reason he left.

“He didn’t want to leave because he is West Ham born and bred. He wanted guarantees basically and I couldn’t give him that.

Tomkins wanted a guarantee of first team football, and Bilic could give him that. That's what he told my mate on the flight over to the states.

Before the Arsenal game Bilic said training had been focussed and the team were ready.

After the Arsenal game Bilic said he had been humiliated and that there had been no intensity in training all season.

I'm not saying he's dishonest. Just a case of playing the media backfiring.

Tomkins didn't want to go. He wanted to stay and be with his mates.

Tomkins was 100% sold against his will. Apparently Slav didn't think much of his attitude when he was out of the team, but I'm not sure how he was supposed to act? He also said that when you're in and around the first 11 Slav is like your best mate, but when you are out the team he doesn't want to know you.

He wasn't spoken to by Bilic after it announced that he was going to be sold and that news itself was delivered to Tomkins by his agent. When we played Palace a few weeks ago, Bilic didn't even acknowledge Tonks which I think is poor character. Apparently Zaza was told to get right in his face too in an attempt to rile him, but I'm sure that is a common instruction against ex players.

Tomkins was an incredibly popular member of the team and I think him being shifted on has a lot to do with some of the problems with lack of harmony in the squad this season. No wonder certain players have the hump with Bilic.

Agreeing to let Tomkins go wasn't the mistake.
Not signing a proper right back was.

Tomkins had time left on his contract so he did not have to go. He could have stayed and played for his place as a starter.

Maybe he should have acted like Obiang.
Keep your mouth shut , work hard and take your chance when it comes.
First name on the team sheet at the moment.

If Tomkins didn't want to go he could have refused the transfer.
He would have played yesterday and probably plenty of other games before.

So many conspiracy theories.

All bull shit.

They just aren't playing well but they will get it right.

Some players are our club were pressuring or persuaded to sign with an agent who had very strong links to the management but who was detrimental to the club.

The club have all but eradicated and traces of that activity in order to not appear to be complicit.

'was 100% sold against his will'

Really? Sounds like Tomkins needs a new agent, then.

Problem was not replacing bim with a qualigy RB...Arbeloa too slow of foot snd brain for the Prem...

BTW...
What's the real story on Sakho...

Did Bilic mis-handle him...was he really injured for so long...why took so long to get Fit..is he really a headcase...why sell your best goalscorer....etc etc...

Come on all you ITKs...what's the truth...can't believe it was,all Sakho's problem

After all Bilic is a hard headed Slav...despite his supposed IQ...

Re: Players sulking because Tomkins was sold against his will and taking sides with Sakho
Should have kept Tomkins end of. We'd have been a whole lot better off defensively, his cheap end replacements have been shit and having bought byram, Bilic had seemed reluctant to use him pre his injury. Tomkins also scores his fair share of goals for a defender, carries more of a threat than Zaza for sure. So yes I'd definitely point to this as being a factor to the spirit in the dressing room.
